Bonbon_Lou(이하 봉봉) 작가는 눈물이 가득한 아이들을 그린다. 그녀가 그린 아이들은 가끔은 멍하니 어딘가를 응시하고, 고개를 떨구기도 한다.
눈물은 유리구슬 처럼 반짝이다가도 강한 직선으로 내리 꽂는다.
혹자는 그림을 보며 질문을 던진다. “왜 울고있니?”. 그것은 나인가, 타인인가, 그림인가.
작가의 첫 번째 전시 ‘Crying child’는 5월 16일부터 27일까지 복합문화공간 빈칸에서 진행 된다.
유성색연필과 디지털 작업 방식이 더해져 섬세하고 몽환적인 동화를 보는 듯한 인상을 받는다. 작가가 직접 고른 인디음악이 전시장을 가득 메우며 우리는 외롭고 쓸쓸해진다.
지금까지 강하고 행복하려 애쓴 현대인들은 타인을 통해 위로받길 원한다.
우리는 스스로 무너지고 일어서는 법을 배운적이 있던가. 우리는 ‘행복 해야만’ 하는 강박적인 사회속에서 매너리즘을 느끼고 있음에도 이 사회에 속하기 위해 억지 웃음을 짓는다.
작가는 울음 뒤에는 무었이 있는지 아이들을 통해 관객의 머릿속으로 스스로 질문하게 한다.
